講師 : Ir. Gary Lee is the General Manger of FYFE (Hong Kong) Limited. He is a Registered Professional
Engineer in Civil and Structural Disciplines and has over 17 years of engineering experience in
design, construction, repair and strengthening of civil infrastructures and buildings. He is
specialising in using fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) to upgrade buildings and civil infrastructures
and increase their load capacities. Gary is ready to share with us in the talk on some structural strengthening projects using FRP with approvals sought from various government departments, such as Buildings Department, Housing Department, Highways Department and Water Supplies Department.

Dr. Faye Qiao is the Technical Manager of FYFE (Hong Kong) Limited. Since her graduation with
PhD in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Civil Engineering, she has been
specialized in structural repair, construction materials and corrosion engineering. She has over
7 years of experience in condition survey, strengthening design, and corrosion protection for
structures and pipes.

Speakers in this seminar would introduce a new strengthening work system which could restore the original structural capacity; it is also able to increase the structural capacities if you plan to increase the imposed load on the structure if there is any change of use.  This strengthening work system is able to achieve a cost saving of say 30% as compared with other conventional strengthening systems, the advantages of this system are:-

  • Long term solution (we have projects with design life of 50 years)
  • Cost effective
  • Fast
  • Non-disruptive
  • Headroom is not affected
  • BD approvals available
