Vincent Cheung, BSc(Hons), MBA, FRICS, MHKIS, RPS(GP), MHKSI, MISCM, MCIREA, Registered Real Estate Appraiser, has over 20 years of experience in real estate industry and asset valuations sector. He is now the Deputy Managing Director of Valuation and Advisory Services, Asia of Colliers International and he is mainly responsible for providing valuation and corporate advisory services across Asia. Mr. Cheung is also one of the key opinion leaders and columnists on real estate market in the various media channels.

China’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) rose 7.9 percent year-on-year to reach 877.56 billion yuan (136.33 billion U.S. dollars) and the real estate sector is one of the major stakes of the FDI in China. As the legal framework and real estate system in Mainland China are quite different from Hong Kong, the valuation practice in China is also different from our practice in Hong Kong. To get prepared to embrace the Greater Bay Area initiative, it’s important for our valuers to understand more about the valuation assumptions, standards and methodologies between Hong Kong and Mainland China.
