Surveyors are required to check the insurance policies of construction projects.  This talk will give some assistance to surveyors on the subject.  The emphasis will be on Macau construction projects, which are different in some aspects from those Hong Kong projects.

Based on experiences working with surveyors, the speaker will ‘walkthrough’ clauses of Macau Employees’ Compensation Insurance policy and Contractors’ All Risks Insurance policy, and explain the intention of them.   These clauses are important features of the insurance policies.

The speaker will also give a comparison between the Hong Kong insurance market and the Macau insurance market for surveyors to understand their differences.
