Sr Lam is the General Manager of D-Reality Consultancy Ltd. He works in the engineering surveying profession since 1992 for many significant projects, including HK International Airport, West Rail, HK-SZ Western Corridor, Venetian Orient Cotai Parcel 5&6 (Macao), Express Rail Link (XRL), etc. He is also RPS(LS), MHKIS, MRICS, FHKInstES, Construction Expert Witness and Construction Adjudicator.

Mr. Stewart Macfarlane
Mr. Stewart Macfarlane is the BIM Services Manager - Digital Engineering of MTR Corporation Ltd. Stewart has over 15 years working in the building design and construction industry with over 10 years involving BIM. Stewart was appointed to lead the MTR Corporation BIM strategy, building on the organisation extensive use of BIM in Hong Kong. Involved in many large scale infrastructure projects including HKIA Midfield Concourse and several MTR Stations, Stewart’s focus has been on design and construction coordination. One of the early professional members of the HKIBIM, he also sits on the panel for CIC BIM Standards in Hong Kong.

Trend of BIM is unavoidable. Application and usage of BIM is exploring by many construction professional including engineer, builder, surveyor and housing expertise. For instance, working drawing may be produced from design BIM, or land surveyor works with BIM directly for any filed work (from setting-out, quality control to as-built survey).

Since BIM is a complex system involving many disciplines, co-operation among different professionals would be a trend and must. Speakers of this event would advise how land surveyor could effectively extract information from BIM world, and the possibility of producing 100% as-built BIM.
